Jalgaon gets air link to Mumbai and Ahmedabad

Nashik: The private airline TruJet started 72-seater passenger aircraft service on the Ahmedabad-Jalgaon, Jalgaon-Mumbai and Kolhapur-Mumbai routes on Sunday.

The flights on these three sectors will be operational five days a week, except on Mondays and Fridays.

The Jalgaon-Mumbai flight was inaugurated by Unmesh Patil, the local MP from Jalgaon .



Earlier, Air Deccan had started flights under the Regional Connectivity Scheme in December 2017, but the airline had to wind up the services within a few months due to financial problems and other technical issues.

There was no air connectivity from Jalgaon for the past one year.

From Ahmedabad, the ATR 72 will take off at 9.40 am and will land at Jalgaon at 10.55 am. The departure from Jalgaon will be at 11.15 am and then the flight will land in Mumbai at 12.25 pm.

From Mumbai, the aircraft will take off at 1 pm and will land at Kolhapur at 2.10 pm. The departure from Kolhapur will be at 2.45 pm and the flight will land at Mumbai at 3.55 pm.

Thereafter, the aircraft will take off from Mumbai at 4.30 pm, and arrive at Jalgaon at 5.40 pm. The departure from Jalgaon will be at 6.05 pm and the flight will reach Ahmedabad by 7.20 pm.

The officials from TruJet said they had received a good response to flights in all the three sectors on the very first day.

“The aircraft was fully occupied on the Ahmedabad-Jalgaon-Ahmedabad sector, while the occupancy was around 75% on the Jalgaon-Mumbai-Jalgaon flight. The occupancy was also 100% on the Mumbai-Kolhapur flight and 75% in Kolhapur-Mumbai flight,” said Namish Joshi, sales and marking head of TruJet.

Airfare for Jalgaon-Ahmedabad starts from Rs 1,098 per passenger, while the Jalgaon-Mumbai fare starts from Rs 1,299 per passenger. Airfare for Mumbai-Kolhapur starts from Rs 2,025.

Meanwhile, Jalgaon MP Unmesh Patil flagged off the Jalgaon-Mumbai flight. Present at the inaugural programme were Attanov Prasad, head of operations, and Namit Joshi, sales and marketing head of TruJet, director of Airport Authority of India (AAI) Sudhir Magirwar, Jalgaon district collector Avinash Dhakane and others.
