Jawan from Rajasthan killed in Himachal Pradesh mishap

Jaipur: An army jawan from the state died in an accident in Himachal Pradesh where he was posted. The soldier, who was from Gulab Bari village under Amarsar police station area in Jaipur district, was cremated with full military honours at his native village on Sunday.

The vehicle in which Rajesh Dadarwal, 38, was travelling fell into a deep gorge killing him on the spot.

His mortal remains were brought to his village on Sunday afternoon.

Amarsar SHO Suresh Kumar, who took the jawan’s remains to his family told TOI, “Rajesh was on leave since July 20 and had returned to his regiment on August 20. Just a day after returning, he met with the accident. We have also received reports that a few other jawans who were travelling with him also succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment. According to information received, the army vehicle lost control and fell into a 100-feet deep gorge.”

Dadarwal’s, who got married in 2008, is survived by his wife and two sons. “The family is still unable to believe that Rajesh, who they just saw less than a week back, has died. Not just the family members, even villagers are in a state of shock and grief. The funeral was conducted with complete military honours,” added Kumar.
