J&K govt identifies 4 spots for fruit-lifting for non-local truckers

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir government has identified four spots — old Mandi at Shopian, new fruit mandi at Shopian, mini-secretariat at Chowgam and the new bus stand at Bhatpora — for non-local truckers to lift consignments of apples and other fruits and avoid the danger of attacks by terrorists deep in the orchards, Shopian deputy commissioner Yasin Chowdhry told TOI.

The state government has already shifted scores of non-local truckers, labourers and non-local fruit traders to safer places to ward off the danger posed by terrorists in south Kashmir.
