JNVST 2020: Last date today to apply for Class 6 admissions in Navodaya Vidyalayas

NEW DELHI: Today is the last date to apply for Class VI admissions in Navodaya Vidyalayas.

Originally the last date to apply was September 15, but the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has extended the admission deadline by 15 days for JNVST application form 2020 for the students to Class 6. The last date to register for online application of Class VI JNVST-2020 was extended up to September 30, 2019. The portal will be kept open for candidates who have registered on or before September 30, 2019 to submit details of Phase-II up to October 3, 2019.

The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test - 2020 (JNVST 2020) for admission to Class-VI in JNVs for the academic session 2020-21 will be held in two phases as given below:

On Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 11.30 A.M. in the State of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh (except Dibang Valley & Tawang Districts), Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh (except Chamba, Kinnaur, Mandi, Sirmour, Kullu, Lahaul & Spiti and Shimla Districts), Jharkhand, Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tripura, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, & West Bengal (except Darjeeling), Union Territories of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh, Dadar & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Delhi, Lakshadweep and Pudducherry.

On Saturday, April 11, 2020 at 11.30 A.M. in the States of Jammu and Kashmir, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Uttrakhand and in the Districts of Dibang Valley and Tawang of Arunachal Pradesh, in the Districts of Chamba, Kinnaur, Mandi, Sirmour, Kullu, Lahaul & Spiti and Shimla of Himachal Pradesh, in the District of Darjeeling of West Bengal.

Steps to apply for JNV Selection Test 2020

Registration can be done free of cost through the admission portal of NVS linked through and Verification of proofs for residence, age, eligibility etc will be done for selected candidates after the declaration of results.

1) Visit the official website -

2) Click on the link "Apply for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test for Class VI (Session 2020-21)"

3) In the new window that appears, click on the link 'registration - phase 1'

4) Register and fill in the application form

In all JNVs a help desk is available to assist the candidates/parents to upload application free of cost. Parents may also approach the help desk in JNV along with candidate and required documents such as certificate signed by the Head Master, photograph and a mobile phone with valid mobile number for receiving the registration number and password through SMS for registration process.

Issue of Admit Cards

The admit card will be made available with effect from December 1, 2019 and March 1, 2020 in respect of phase 1 and phase 2 class VI JNVST -2020 respectively on application portal which can be downloaded free of cost by the candidates/parents before the conduct of JNVST.

Result of the Selection Test

The result of JNV Selection Test 2020 is expected to be announced by March 2020 and May 2020 for Phase 1 and phase 2 class VI JNVST-2020 respectively. Candidates can get the result from the admission portal. The result will also be displayed in the offices of the concerned

The Principal, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya concerned, will also inform the selected candidates through SMS on the registered mobile number followed by a speed post.

Age Limit

A candidate seeking admission must not have been born before May 1, 2007 and after April 30, 2011 (Both dates are inclusive).
