Jumbo crush two to death in Korba

RAIPUR: Two persons were trampled to death by a herd of elephants in Korba district on Friday.

Some 20 elephants have been frequenting the area for the last few days, even as the forest department is trying to chase them away from the human habitat.

Two villagers 65-year-old Budhwariya Bai and 80-year-old Jeet Rai were killed in the accident. Budhwariya Bai had gone to pick mushrooms when she was attacked. During this time, Jeet Rai was passing by and crushed to death by an elephant .
