Kerala: Thiruvananthapuram reports biggest single day spike in 3 months; 12 test positive for Covid-19

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala capital recorded the biggest single day spike of Covid-19 cases in three months with 12 persons testing positive on Sunday. Authorities said that the list also includes a remand prisoner who was arrested under Abkari act . On March 13, the district had recorded 3 cases and since then the number of cases has never gone above 2.



Of the 12 cases which were confirmed on Sunday, 8 persons came from other states and 3 came from abroad. One person contracted disease by contact. He is a resident of Venjaramoodu and is 40-year-old. A 65 year old man; resident of Navaikulam who came from Oman, a 63-year-old man; a resident of Anayara who arrived from the UAE and a 58-year-old man who arrived from Oman are the persons who came from abroad.

Four persons who were tested positive arrived from Mumbai in a traveller. They include a 35-year-old woman, 39-year-old man, 52-year-old woman and 7-year-old boy, all residents of Madavoor . A 51-year-old man and 18-year-old girl who came from Mumbai in a car were also tested positive. A 38-year-old woman who was tested positive came from Nagercoil. She is a resident of Pozhiyur.
