Kerala: Two teenage boys killed in lightning in Kannur

KANNUR: Two teenage boys were killed in lightning at Pullookkara near Panoor in the Kannur district of Kerala on Wednesday evening.


According to police, the victims have been identified as Fahad (17), son of Mahmood and Shahida, resident of Mukkilpeedika near Pullookkara , and Sameen, son of Rahim and Naufila from Anakkettiya.

The two were hit by the thunderbolt at Kochiyangadi around 6.30pm. Though they were immediately rushed to the local hospital and then to another hospital in Thalassery, their lives could not be saved.

The mishap happed when the two were coming home after playing cricket. Fahad was a degree student while Sameen was doing Plus Two.

The bodies have been kept in mortuary and funeral would be held on Thursday, after the post-mortem.
