Kerala: Youth observing mandatory institutional quarantine dies in Alappuzha

ALAPPUZHA: A 36-year-old man- a Gulf-returnee, who was observing the mandatory institutional quarantine at a Covid-19 care centre in Alappuzha, died on Friday.


The deceased has been identified as a native of Pandanad in Chengannur . He was in quarantine after returning from the UAE earlier this week.

The district administration officials said that the person had been suffering from a liver ailment . “He showed the symptoms of liver disease on Friday morning. So. he was taken to Alappuzha Medical College Hospital soon. He died in the hospital afternoon. The deceased didn't not have the symptoms of Covid-19. But his body fluid samples have been sent for testing,” the officials said.
