Kia To Begin Shift at Anantapur Plant To Reduce Waiting Period

  • Kia Seltos has proved to be a popular vehicle with over 32,000 bookings in the pipeline.

  • Considering the demand, Kia plans to start a second shift at its Anantapur plant to reduce the delays in delivery.

Kia Motors India has introduced a compact SUV, the Kia Seltos in the Indian market for an ex-showroom price of Rs 9.69 lakhs. The attractive pricing has resulted in a surge in the bookings for Kia Seltos that has now crossed 32,000 in five weeks. Thus, there is a waiting period of nearly six to eight weeks for the delivery of Kia Seltos. To cater to the growing demand, Kia plans to work in two shifts at the Anantapur plant.

Kia Motor India VP – Marketing and Sales, Manohar Bhat confirms that there is a tremendous demand for Kia Seltos. While Kia has already despatched more than 5,000 models to the dealers, the delay in delivery still persists. Kia Motor India plans to increase the production with the introduction of a second shift at the Anantapur plant. Manohar Bhat has also stated that Kia will not suspend its bookings because of the demand. He has indirectly referred to MG that has stopped accepting new bookings for the MG Hector.
