The 2nd match of the Karnataka Premier League 2019 will be played between Hubli Tigers and Shivamogga Lions at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

The match starts at 3:00 PM local time (IST) (11:30 AM GMT).

Hubli Tigers, one of the most consistent side in the last three seasons, will begin their Karnataka Premier League (KPL) campaign in the 2019 edition on Saturday. They will be facing Shivamogga Lions at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in the game which is slated to begin at 3 PM local time. The Tigers finished in the top two in the previous two editions of the KPL but were knocked out in the semi-finals only.

They were the runners up in the 2016 edition as they conceded a big total in the final. On the other hand, the Shivamogga Lions lost all the six matches they played in the previous edition. They came into the KPL named Namma Shivamogga in 2015 edition. The Shivamogga based franchise turned into Shivamogga Lions but surely that change didn’t work for them as they wanted to happen.

As expected, the first match of the tournament got washed out due to the rain intervention. The forecast for the 2nd day isn’t great either. In fact, afternoons have been quite wet in Bangalore over the last week. With not much of time available between the first and second game in the double header, the afternoon fixture could get abandoned even if it rains for one and half hour.

On the opening day, the pitch looked bit sticky since it was the first game of the season and with the moist conditions around. This game between Tigers and Lions will be played in the afternoon on a different track and hence better batting conditions can be expected.
