Kurukshetra University VC lays foundation stone of research, innovation and entrepreneurship centre

KURUKSHETRA: The Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Kurukshetra University (KU), Dr Kailash Chandra Sharma laid the foundation stone of the research, innovation and entrepreneurship centre under the Rashtriya Uchchattar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) project on Thursday. Earlier on Wednesday, an incubation centre was also launched by the KU VC Dr Kailash.




Under this project a new building of six research, innovation and entrepreneurship centres will be established in KU at the cost of Rs 26.65 crore.

Speaking on this occasion varsity VC Dr Kailash said the research and innovation centres under RUSA will fulfill the future needs of the university and it is a milestone in making of KU as an excellence centre of research and innovation.

Dr Kailash instructed the construction branch officials that this project should be completed within the stipulated time period.

Dean academic affairs and nodal officer for RUSA Prof Manjula Chaudhary said, "The Kurukshetra University will establish Centre of Information Technology (IT) and Automation, Centre of Materials Science, Centre of Environment and Biology, Saraswati Research Center, Centre of Earth Sciences, and Centre of Skill Development and they will be under one roof."

Executive engineer (XEN) Prithvi Singh of the construction branch said, "This building will be ready within the stipulated time as strict instructions have been given to the manufacturing company for completing the project at given time. This building is being built in 10,275 square meters, will be unique among the various buildings of the university and due to its proximity to the Brahma Sarovar will also become a centre of attraction.

On this occasion the registrar Dr Neeta Khanna, and other professors and dignitaries were present.

In the month of May 2019, KU, Haryana received the first installment of Rs 42 crore out of Rs 100 crore approved by the Ministry of Human Resource Development under the RUSA.

1) Incubation Centre

2) Centre for Entrepreneurship

3) Corporate Resource Centre

4) Centre for Continuing Education

5) Centre for Sports
