Lady Teacher Alleges Death Threat From Male Colleagues In Kandhamal

Kandhamal: A lady assistant teacher of Kudutuli High School in K. Nuagaon block in the district has alleged harassment charges and death threat against three of her male colleagues.

In her complaint, the lady teacher has alleged that the headmaster of the school Chandra Sekhar Maharana, assistant teacher Sadashiv Behera and PET Susant Baliarsingh had been harassing her mentally and physically for quite some time.

She has further stated that the trio cautioned her not to talk with any other lady teachers in the school and when she protested proxy attendance of some other colleagues, they issued life threats to her.

“They manhandled me and made casteist remarks. This apart, they threatened me If I don’t keep quiet, I will suffer the same consequences like that of Itishree Pradhan of Tikiri upper primary school in Rayagada,” the lady teacher said.

Based on the complaint, a case has been registered and Baliguda DSP Suryakant Ray has been asked to probe the matter.

However, comments of the three teachers about the allegations leveled against them could not be obtained.

K.Nuagaon Block Education Officer Chittaranjan Tripathy said, “I am not aware of the incident. If the DEO directs me, I will probe the matter.”
