JAMSHEDPUR: A large number of BJP functionaries from Jamshedpur are planning to be a witness to Babulal Marandi ’s “ghar waapasi” to saffron party scheduled on February 17 in Ranchi.
Talking to TOI, BJP’s Jamshedpur mahanagar president Dinesh Kumar said, “More than 3,000 BJP functionaries and ground workers from Steel City will take part in the programme to welcome Marandi ji back to the party which he left in 2006.”
Kumar said mandal heads have been instructed in this direction to hire vehicles to ferry partymen to the venue. The mandal heads will meet soon to chalk out the formalities in this connection.
Kumar said with the merger of both the parties, the organization of BJP will strengthen both at the state and city level.
Replying to a query Kumar said: “There will be perfect coordination between the two camp members,” pointing out that most of the JVM-P functionaries were earlier with BJP.
He also rubbished any kind of differences or roadblocks between JVM-P chief general secretary Abhay Singh and former CM from BJP, Raghubar Das .
Notably, Abhay Singh after deserting BJP has been often a vocal critic of Das and contested against him from Jamshedpur east seat.
Kumar said the merger will be smooth and refuted any kind of friction in days to come.
Meanwhile, JVM-P partymen met in Jamshedpur in connection with taking part in the “ghar wapsi” programme in which saffron heavyweights like JP Nadda and Amit Shah will take part.
Sources said the Jamshedpur unit of JVM-P has hired 500 vehicles to ferry workers and functionaries to the programme venue on the scheduled date.
In the meeting of the Jamshedpur unit of JVM-P, the functionaries were informed about the expulsion of two MLAs Pradeep Yadav and Bandhu Tirkey from the party. A formal information was also passed on to the carders about the merger of both the parties.
