Leopard attacks forest guard near Katni

JABALPUR: In a bid to rescue villagers, a forest official was injured after a leopard suddenly pounced on him, near Katni on Friday.


The leopard strayed into a farm near Katni and several villagers had gathered to have a glimpse of the animal. Forest officials rushed for a rescue. When one of the guards was trying to control the mob, the leopard pounced on him and escaped the spot leaving him injured.The guard fell unconscious.

Villagers took him to the hospital where he was left unattended for more than 30 minutes, say sources. Doctors say he is out of danger now.
