Leopard attacks forest staff in Telangana's Nalgonda district

Hyderabad: Yet another leopard attacked two forest staff in Nalgonda district of Telangana on Thursday morning. The forest staff went there to free the leopard from barbed wires. They ran fearing for life.

The incident happened in Rajipet hamlet in Marriguda block of Telangana’s Nalgonda district.

Acting on the information that a leopard got entangled in barbed fencing at an agriculture field, a team of forest staff reached the place in a jeep.

They managed to free it. But, the leopard waged a lightning attack on them. The visuals show the wild animal pouncing on the forest personnel. Two suffered minor injuries. While some tried to chase it to protect their fellow staffers, some took cover behind the jeep, wielding sticks.

The leopard later strayed into the village from the nearby forest.

It may be recalled that a leopard strayed into the human habitat at the Katedan area in Hyderabad on May 14. The cub could not be trapped and its whereabouts are still not known. It had attacked a truck driver before resting at the meridian.

On May 20, coal mine workers spotted a tiger roadside in an area adjoining forest in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad district.
