Lesson in communal harmony: Sri Sita Ram temple in Ayodhya hosts Iftar party

Ayodhya: Keeping in true spirit of the holy month of Ramazan, a Hindu temple in Ayodhya hosted Iftar or the evening meal with which Muslims end their daily Ramadan fast at sunset. 

In the communally charged atmosphere during the elections, people from all religions sat an example for for the nation when they sat for an Iftar meal inside the Shri Sita Ram temple. 

Yugal Kishor, the priest of the temple while told the news agency ANI that, “this is the first time we have organised an Iftar party. We shall continue to the same in future too. We should celebrate every festival with great zeal”.

An attendee at the Iftar dinner, Mujammil Fiza said he “celebrates Navratri with Hindu brethren”.

“Certain people who have an agenda do not let people of different communities to come together. In a country where people play politics in the name of religion, people like Kishor send a message of love,” he told ANI. 

In India the holy month of Ramzan started on May 5 and will continue till June 4. More than 180 million Indian Muslims will celebrate the month of fasting during the month.
