Light rains likely in North Gujarat, Kutch- Saurashtra


Gujarat is experiencing a cyclonic circulation, and the weather is likely to remain the same till Wednesday, predicted the India Meteorological Department (IMD). As per the forecast, light rains and thundershowers will prevail over parts of Kutch, North Gujarat and Saurashtra.

Despite the cyclonic winds, Ahmedabad experienced a hot Sunday as mercury touched 41 degree Celsius.

Capital city Gandhinagar, with 42 degree Celsius, recorded the highest temperature in the state during the day. Light rainfall was recorded in isolated parts of Saurashtra and Kutch. The temperature is likely to remain the same till Wednesday. Starting from Wednesday, dry and hot weather will prevail in the state, with IMD eliminating the possibility of thundershowers and rains after that.

Meanwhile, IMD has said that there is no deficit i npre-monsoon rainfall (between March and May) in Gujarat.
