Listening To 'Hanuman Chalisa A Crime' Under Congress Rule: PM Modi's Fresh Salvo After 'Infiltrators' Remark

Tonk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched a blistering attack on Congress and said that under their rule "even listening to Hanuman Chalisa becomes a crime".

PM Modi was addressing a rally in Tonk-Sawai Madhopur when he said that Rajasthan suffered under the previous government which was led by the Congress party.

“In the rule of Congress, even listening to Hanuman Chalisa becomes a crime. Rajasthan has been its sufferer...For the first time on Ram Navami this time, a Shobha Yatra procession was taken out in Rajasthan...In a state like Rajasthan where people chant Ram-Ram, Congress banned Ram Navami,” PM Modi said.

In the rally, PM Modi mentioned an assault on a shopkeeper in Congress-ruled Karnataka for allegedly playing Hanuman Chalisa.

"While talking to you today on Hanuman Jayanti, I remember a picture from a few days ago. A few days ago, in Congress-ruled Karnataka, a shopkeeper was brutally beaten up only because he was listening to Hanuman Chalisa while sitting in his shop," PM Modi said.

PM Modi also spoke about his "wealth redistribution" remark which sparked a massive row and said that Congress is so irked that they have started "abusing" PM Modi.

"Two-three days ago, I exposed this vote bank politics of Congress as appeasement politics; this has angered Congress and its INDI Alliance so much that they have started abusing PM Modi everywhere," he said while asking "why the Congress is scared of the truth and hiding its policies".

"It is written in their manifesto that they will survey the wealth. Their leader had said in a speech that X-ray of wealth will be done," he said, adding, "When Modi exposed the secret, your hidden agenda came out and you are trembling".
