Locals in several areas of North Bengal protest against home quarantined Migrant workers



 Migrant workers from various district who have returned after several days will have to stay in the quarantine center for 14 days.  At present they cannot be allowed to stay in their homes under any circumstances.


 On Wednesday, locals blocked the road near the Jalpaiguri junction in protest resulting to severe traffic disruptions.

 On the other hand, according to the Jalpaiguri District Health Department, it is compulsory for the returning migrant workers from 5 states including Rajasthan and Gujarat to stay in the institutional quarantine center.  The rest have to stay home quarantine for 14 days.

 Upon receiving the news, the police of Jalpaiguri Kotwali Police Station left for the spot.
