Lok Sabha 2019: LSP-BSP all set with seat sharing formula

KURUKSHETRA: After reaching an alliance with Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), the Kurukshetra member parliament (MP) Raj Kumar Saini and president of Loktantra Suraksha Party (LSP) seem prepared for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections of 2019.


As per sources, Saini is preparing hard for the Jaat land and soon he would be conducting rallies in Sonepat, Bhiwani-Mahendragarh areas and the schedule for rallies with the BSP chief Mayawati has also been prepared.



Purshotam Sharma, personal secretary to MP Saini said, "After the meeting with the BSP chief Mayawati last week, LSP national youth president Ramesh Rao Pilot has been announced as a candidate for Bhiwani-Mahedragarh seat. The list of other candidates would be released soon."

The sources disclosed the alliance of LSP is suiting the politics of BSP. After the meeting with the Mayawati, the seat-sharing formula has been finalised between the two parties before the Lok Sabha elections. For the same, BSP and LSP would be fielding their candidates on the seat-sharing formula of eight and two seats respectively for the Lok Sabha elections. For the state assembly elections, the formula of sharing 55 seats for LSP and 35 for BSP could be finalised between the two parties.

A well-placed source seeking anonymity said, “The LSP would be contesting from the seats of Sonepat and Bhiwani-Mahendragarh, while the BSP would contest from Ambala , Faridabad , Gurugram, Kurukshetra, Karnal , Hisar, Rohtak, and Sirsa. Any change in the above-mentioned seat-sharing would be done if LSP reaches an alliance with any other party in the state. The talks and meetings are being held with various leaders and as of now, our party is in alliance with BSP only.”

As per media reports, last week, BSP has also announced the candidature of its former Haryana chief Naresh Saran for Ambala (SC) reserved constituency seat.

The two alliance ideologies of LSP-BSP seem prepared and could field a candidate of Saini community from the Kurukshetra seat. At present, Raj Kumar Saini is MP from Kurukshetra.

It is also being speculated that Saini dreams of becoming Haryana CM and instead of contesting the Lok Sabha elections he would be fielding his party’ candidates.
