According to an IANS report, the police have filed two separate cases in this case on behalf of two different parties. A police officer has reported that "Some people (third parties) tried to install a statue of Lord Hanuman on disputed land at Balwa Kawori Thakurbadi in Panapur Gaurahi village. The Thakurbadi committee members were furious about this. But the protest increased when some people objected to this and demanded the removal of the statue."

After this, a situation of confrontation arose on both sides. After getting the information, the Sadar police reached the spot and took Hanumanji's statue in his possession. Hajipur Deputy Superintendent of Police Raghav Dayal said that after a written application from both sides, a case has been registered in the Sadar police station. He said that "the installation of a temple or statue on public land is prohibited. The idol of Lord Hanuman has been captured and kept in the police station. The police is investigating the whole matter."
