Lovelorn couple end lives in Gandhidham

Rajkot: Bodies of an 18-year-old woman and a 24-year-old married man were fished out from a pond in Kidana village of Gandhidham on Monday and Tuesday, respectively.

The woman was identified as Gomtiben Jivabhai of Bharatnagar in Gandhidham and the man as Kirti Patadiya of Maheshwarinagar in the same town.

Investigation into the case revealed that the duo were in love and had left their homes on Monday morning. However, the reason for their suicide was not immediately known. Police said that Patadiya was a motor mechanic and used to work in a garage. He was married and is survived by his wife and a child.
