Lover ties knot in cinematic style, video goes viral

Chitradurga: Taking their love story to a logical conclusion, a couple from Sigehatti village of Hiriyur taluk married in a filmy style and the video of the same is doing rounds on social media.

Arun and Amritha were in love with each other were in love for four years, though they belonged to the same community their families were opposed to their decision of getting married.

Many attempts, including the intervention of the village head too, had gone futile as Amritha’s parents stood firm on their decision. But when Amritha got to know about the plans of her family to get her married off to someone else, informed her lover Arun that she will come running to him on the early morning of the next day and he has to tie ‘Mangalyasutra’ around her neck immediately. Accordingly, Arun, who is a shepherd tied the Mangalyasutra to Amritha at the grazing ground of his sheep to avoid any mishap of Amritha’s parents following her and catching her up.

Meanwhile, Arun’s younger brother made a TikTok video of this wedding and the within no time the video has now gone viral.

Following the wedding, Arun approached the police to ask for protection for him and his bride as there is a threat from Amritha’s family.
