Low-intensity earthquake jolts Himachal Pradesh
An earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter Scale hit Chamba district and its surrounding areas in Himachal Pradesh today. This was followed by two tremors of lesser intensity. The epicentre was north-east of Himachal-J&K border at a depth of five kilometres. No loss of life has been reported so far. Most parts of the state, including Chamba district, fall in a high-seismic sensitive zone.
