Lucknow: Man detained for abducting and raping kid

LUCKNOW: A four-year-old girl was allegedly abducted from her home in Gudamba and raped inside an abandoned house nearby on Saturday.


The 30-year-old accused has been detained following a complaint lodged by the girl's mother who said she caught him in the act. Police are interrogating the man while the child is in hospital.

The girl, whose father is a labourer, was alone in their shanty when she was targeted by the accused Anil Yadav. Her father was away at work while her mother went to fetch her sibling from school.

"The woman came home and started searching for her daughter. She heard her screams, while crossing a run-down house," said Circle officer (Ghazipur) Deepak Kumar Singh.

Yadav tried to escape when the child's mother found him inside the building, but local residents chased and nabbed him. He was handed over to police.
