Lucknow University teacher accused of tweaking marks on portal, probe ordered

Lucknow: After the marksheet racket, a controversy over manipulation of marks is here to haunt Lucknow University.

The varsity’s coordinator of physical education Neeraj Jain on Tuesday accused an assistant professor of his department of altering marks he allotted to BPEd second semester students. Vice-chancellor SP Singh formed a three-member probe team on Wednesday.

In his letter, also forwarded to governor and chancellor Ram Naik, Jain said he was the internal examiner of the ‘leadership in training camp’ paper and had uploaded marks of 26 BPEd students on the LU website on April 12.

“On June 22, the marks were deleted/replaced by an assistant professor of the department with help from some officials in the university administration,” says the letter, a copy of which is in TOI’s possession.

Demanding a thorough probe, Jain has pointed out that only the coordinator and department head had access to the portal for uploading marks, .

VC Singh said a panel, led by pro-VC RK Singh, was looking into the allegations.
