Ludhiana: Eunuchs attack municipal corporation team, held

PATIALA: A high drama took place in front of a dhaba near Fountain Chowk in Patiala city on Thursday evening after a group of eunuchs allegedly attacked the civic body team that had gone to spot to remove encroachments.


The eunuchs took off their clothes, protested against the corporation's anti-encroachment team and allegedly attacked the officials with stones.

The entire scene was caught on camera by local residents standing nearby.

The incident took place when the anti-encroachment team headed by MC superintendent Sunil Kumar Mehta reached the dhaba and asked the owner to remove the illegal encroachments. The team also comprised inspector Ravinder Singh, a driver and patwari.

"At the fountain chowk, we saw some shopkeepers and vendors encroaching the road following which we asked them to remove the same as it could lead to accidents. But the dhaba owner started abusing me and my inspector. Meanwhile, a group of eunuchs reached and started abusing and asked us to leave. We requested them to leave the spot, but all in vain. We called the police afterwards. The eunuchs attacked out team and policemen with stones," said Sunil Kumar Mehta, superintendent of Patiala municipal corporation .
