Madhya Pradesh: 3 members of family washed away in Chhindwara

BHOPAL: Three members of a family, which had gone for the last rites of a member at Kanhan river of Chhindwara district in MP, were washed away. While the body of one person has been found, the search for the two others is going on.


The incident took place on the banks of Kanhan river near Sausar town when the members of a Yadav family from Sausar -- Rajendra Yadav (60), Saurabh Yadav (22) Aniket Yadav (30) and Ankit Yadav (24) -- got washed away.

"Rajendra was saved by people present at the spot while the body of Saurabh was found two kilometers away. The search for Aniket and Ankit is going on,” Sausar police station in charge Siyaram Singh told TOI.

“Local divers as well as the teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) were deployed,” Singh said.
