BHOPAL: A 16-year-old boy allegedly drowned in Upper Lake around 500 metres away from his house at Kishti Ghat in Sewania Goud village.

He was missing from home since Tuesday evening. Ratibad police reached the spot andrecovered the body .

Police took out his photograph from his mobile phone and ascertained his identity with the help of locals. SHO Ratibad Sudesh Tiwari said, "The deceased Nilesh Gour, a resident of Sewania Goud village in Ratibad, was a student of class 7. His father Amar Singh Gour is a contractor.."

Tiwari said, "A homeguard jawan spotted clothes and mobile phone lying near Kishti Ghat around 10am on Wednesday. He informed police on Dial-100 after which police reached the spot and fished out the body with help of divers."

The family members told police that Nilesh left home on Tuesday evening and did not return. The family members thought that he might have stayed at the house of a relative in the village and did not try to look for him. They said that Nilesh was adept at swimming. Primary investigation, however, suggests that he might have drowned.
