Madhya Pradesh: New train schedule leaves several daily commuters stranded

BHOPAL: The news of resumption of 200 passenger trains from Monday didn't go down too well with daily commuters as they still find themselves left in the lurch.

Hundreds of citizens commute daily to nearby cities like Hoshangabad and Vidisha from Bhopal. "As per the guidelines, my office has started functioning.

Trains are starting from Monday but it is of no use for me. I do not know what to do as there's clear instructions from seniors to attend the office in any situation," said Vikas Sharma, who work at a private firm.

Several maids commute from Vidisha to Bhopal daily. "I thought things will be fine from June 1. I am not working since past two months. People want me to take up work from Monday. I am not in a position to resume work and worried about it because if I won't show up, I'll get replaced by other housekeeping staff," said Vimla Kumari.

From Bhopal, 24 trains will pass while 4 will originate. These will be Bhopal-New Delhi, Bhopal Express and Bhopal-Jabalpur Jan Shatabdi Express . Majority of the daily commuters use both these trains during normal situation.
