Madurai miscreants snatch five sovereign gold chain from woman
MADURAI: The police are on a lookout for the miscreants who snatched five sovereign gold chain from a woman here on Friday.
Devika, 55, a resident of K Pudur was walking at the Kadachanendhal-Othakadai road in Madurai . When she was near the EB office, two unidentified persons who came on a two wheeler snatched five sovereign gold chain from her and escaped from the spot.
Based on the complaint of Devika, the Appanthirupathi police have registered a case and are investigating.
Similarly, a woman Vijayalakshmi,60, was taking a walk with her husband Ramasamy at Kakkan Colony near Tirumangalam in Madurai on Friday evening. Two unidentified persons who were on a two wheeler attempted to snatch Vijayalakshmi’s thali chain. As Vijayalakshmi held on to her chain tightly, the chain got cut in to two pieces and the duo escaped with 2.50 sovereign piece of the chain. Based on her complaint the Tirumangalam town police have registered a case and are investigating.
