Major reshuffle in forest dept, 69 transferred

Nagpur: In a much-awaited major reshuffle, 69 forest officials, including 53 IFS cadre and 16 divisional forest officers (DFOs) and assistant conservators (ACFs) belonging to state cadre were transferred on Monday.

The transfers and promotion were due for a long time and were awaiting the green signal from forest minister Sanjay Rathod.

However, even as officials holding postings in sensitive divisions have been shifted, they have not been replaced with others.

Wildlife lovers and conservationists expressed surprise that no postings have been done in the sensitive Bramhapuri, where man-animal conflict is at its peak.

Similarly, with fresh order, all four divisions in Amravati Circle are devoid of deputy conservators. These include Buldhana, Amravati, Melghat territorial and Akola, where the post was already vacant. No officer has been posted in highly sensitive Chandrapur, Pandharkawda and Bhandara divisions.

Meanwhile, TATR field director NR Pravin has been promoted as CCF (Chandrapur). He will be replaced by Jitendra Ramgaonkar. Gorewada Rescue Centre divisional manager Nandkishore Kale has been posted in Tadoba (core). He will be replaced by PB Panchbhai at Gorewada. CCF Vivek Khandekar has been promoted as APCCF in Pune social forestry.
