Man abducted for non-repayment of loan; smart friend calls police, gets him rescued

A man who was abducted after he defaulted on repayment of loan was rescued by the police after his quick-witted friend called them after receiving the ransom call. Anandnagar police have caught the kidnapper and registered a complaint.

Victim Mitesh Vasar (30) lives in Vatva and works as an IT manager with a private company.

Through one of his friends, he came in contact with Dudheshwar resident Ishwar Vala (30). Vasar told police that around one and a half years ago, he was in need of money and had borrowed Rs 3 lakh from Vala. However, he could not return Vala's money.

On Tuesday afternoon, Vasar received a call from Vala asking him to meet up near Ramada hotel in Prahaladnagar. There, Vaka asked Vasar to return the money. When Vasar said he could not do the needful, Vala invited Vasar for tea and took him to a place in Dudheshwar where he told Vasar to arrange for the money or he would not be allowed to leave.

Vasar called up one of his friends for the amount. Realising that Vasar had been kidnapped, the friend informed the police who reached the spot and arrested Vala .
Anandnagar PI SJ Baloch said, "The accused has been detained and sent for Covid test and further investigation in the case is going on."
