Man dupes Pinjore couple of Rs 9 lakh
PANCHKULA: A person, claiming to be a manager of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna , duped a couple, residents of Pinjore , of Rs 9 lakh on the pretext of providing them a fully-furnished flat in Chandimandir .
Sunita, a resident of Abdullapur , Pinjore, reported to the police she and her husband met Mohit Sharma, a resident of Rathpur Colony, Pinjore, who allegedly claimed himself to be a manager working with the Pardhan Mantri Awas Yojna.
She said the accused told them that he would help them in allotting a flat at a nominal price.
Mohit offered them a fully-furnished flat near the Nada Sahib Gurdwara and asked them to deposit Rs 5,076 as registration fee in October 2017 along with the documents.
The accused later asked the couple to deposit Rs 8.96 lakh in 23 different transactions between February 22, 2017, and February 12, 2018. The couple deposited the said amount.
The couple also alleged that the accused had political connection and nobody could harm him.
