Man dupes three Arunachal Pradesh MLAs with offer of cabinet role

NEW DELHI: A man has been arrested for allegedly duping three Arunachal MLAs by promising a cabinet seat for them in the state government. The man posed as the personal assistant of an MP and took money from the MLAs for the positons. The MLAs discovered they were duped when the politicians met the MP.


Police sources said that the man, identified as Sanjay Tewari, was nabbed from his residence in Delhi after the politician requested the police commissioner to take up the case on a priority.

The MLAs told the cops that they met Tewari at a function last year in Delhi where he had introduced himself and offered them help in political matters.
