Man robbed of car, Rs 1.5 lakh in Hisar

HISAR: A dairy owner was robbed of his car and Rs 1.5 lakh by four unidentified men in Hisar district on Sunday night. The incident took place on Barwala-Badhawar road, where the miscreants waylaid Gurmeet, a resident of Gurana village, by faking an accident.


Gurmeet said while he was driving home, when around 11pm he saw a man lying on the road near Badhawar.

Thinking the man was injured, Gurmeet said he got down from his car to help the person. As he approached the man lying on the road, two men reached there on a bike while another emerged from the adjoining fields and grabbed him. He said the miscreants brandished a weapon and snatched the car keys from him. The accused drove away in his car, which contained Rs 1.5 lakh in cash, ATM cards and some other important documents.

After the incident, Gurmeet informed the police, who reached the spot and registered a case against unknown accused.

A Hisar police spokesperson said a case under Section 392 ( robbery ) of the IPC has been registered on the complaint of Gurmeet. tnn
