Marriage life expenditure drives two youth in bike theft

Nagpur: Cracking down on increasing two-wheeler theft across the city, Crime Branch unit 2 of the Nagpur Police had arrested two youth and recovered 14 two-wheeler worth Rs 6,65,000.

Following a tip-off the Crime Branch on March 20, arrested accused Saurabh Wakildev Vishvakarma (22) resident of Duttawadi and Praveen Ramesh Sonar (23) a resident of Pili Nadi near Wadi Naka, Amravati road.

“The accused duo mostly had Wadi area on their radar as half of the total bikes were stolen from Wadi. Followed by 3 from Jaripatka and one each from Sitabuldi, Bajaj Nagar, Kuhi and Gondia city,” informed DCP Nilesh Bharne while addressing press conference at Gymkhana, Civil Lines on Saturday.

“Vishvakarma was expert in stealing whereas Sonar tends to settle bike deals in rural parts of Umred, Gondia, Kuhi. They used to steal bikes to cover their marriage life expenditure,” added the DCP.
