Medical aspirant from Bihar ends life in Kota hostel

Kota: A day after Union HRD minister Pokhriyal had called upon coaching students in the city to be always positive in life and to shake off negativity, a 19-year-old girl, from Madhubani district in Bihar, currently preparing for NEET entrance examination for admission medical college, committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan of her hostel in Rangbadi area under Mahavir Nagar police station of the city on Monday late evening.



The girl left no suicide note behind her and police is yet to ascertain exact reason behind the extreme step. The body was handed over to family members after post-mortem on Tuesday.

The girl was identified as Sweta Kumari Rajput, a resident of Madhubani district in Bihar.

After passing her Class XII, Rajput had been undergoing preparation for NEET at a coaching institute of the city for last two and a half years and had been living in rented accommodation in Rangbadi area along with her parents, said ASI at Mahavir Nagar police station, Harveer Singh.

The mother, on returning to the room from market last evening, found the girl hanging from a ceiling fan while her father was on his duty at a private firm, the ASI added.

Missing student returns to kin: In another case, a 16-year-old coaching student from Jharkhand, who had left his hostel room from Vigyan Nagar police station area of Kota city on Monday morning, reached his maternal aunt’s home in Vadodara city in Gujrat on Tuesday morning.
