Medical board to be set up for examining injuries of acid attack victim: Darbhanga IG
PATNA: Darbhanga zonal IG Pankaj Kumar Darad on Thursday said that a medical board would be set up for examining the injuries of the acid attack victim who had appeared before the Patna high court on Wednesday to prove the medical report of a government doctor wrong.
“Police will get a medical board constituted to examine the nature of injury sustained in the acid attack and a fresh report would be prepared.

The case diary was also prepared on the basis of the doctor’s report,” said the IG.
The victim, Raghvendra Kumar (26), had opened his shirt before Justice Birendra Kumar to convince the court that the two accused seeking bail did not deserve it on their plea that the burn injuries were simple in nature. Not only the medical report of the doctor concerned, but also the investigating officer’s case diary mentioned the victim’s injuries as simple.
Justice Birendra immediately rejected the regular bail petitions of Vinod Mahto and his son Darshan Mahto, who are accused of pouring acid on Raghvendra.

“If the victim or any of his family member gives us a representation, then definitely action would be taken in connection with the case,” Darad told TOI over phone.
Raghvendra had sustained the injuries while trying to save his sister’s modesty.
