Meghan Markle to offer fans glimpse into Sussex's 'Montecito lifestyle' with new brand

Meghan Markle will offer a glimpse into her and Prince Harry's "Montecito lifestyle" through her new brand, a royal expert has claimed.

The Duchess of Sussex unveiled the new venture, American Riviera Orchard, with a surprise announcement on Instagram earlier this month.

In a teaser clip,

Meghan could be seen picking flowers, baking and walking around in an elegant black gown - but details about the project have been scarce so far.

An application with the US Trademark and Patent Office suggested the Duchess's new project will be focussed on lifestyle as she applied to sell digital and print cookbooks as well as cookware and a variety of jams.

Expert Christine Ross suggested Meghan will be tapping into her experience with her old lifestyle blog, The Tig, and offer her fans some insight into how she and Harry live in California.

Speaking to Hello! Ross said: "American Riviera Orchard is a logical next step for Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex. Before her marriage, her website The Tig was growing in popularity and notoriety.

"When it was closed prior to her wedding, there was an outcry for her down-to-earth content and insights into her lifestyle.

"The appeal of these websites is the relatability, like we could achieve the same level of glamour or elegance if we just had the same breakfast recipes."

American Riviera Orchard is the latest venture the Duchess of Sussex embarked on since stepping down as a senior royal with Harry in early 2020.

Shortly after moving to California, Meghan released the best-selling children's book The Bench and then struck a series of multi-million agreements with the likes of Netflix and Spotify.

While her experience with the music streaming platform came to an end after only one season of her podcast Archetype, the Duchess has since signed with Lemonada to produce a new podcast.

She continued "American Riviera Orchard feels consistent with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's rebranding over recent years.

"As they work to shape their relationship with the public and their perception, a full-scale brand showcasing a glimpse of their lifestyle is the perfect next step.

"From what we have heard and the teasers we have seen, American Riviera Orchard seems like a glimpse into their Montecito lifestyle in a perfectly posed, curated way."

The Duchess has yet to announce the official launch date for the new brand but she is reportedly still shopping for a CEO - suggesting it might take some time still before the project is live.
