Mid Covid Situation and Festive Season IMD Predicts Heavy Monsoon Showers In This Part Of India, Check Where

Mumbai: In the mid of COVID situation in the country and upcoming festivals, the Indian India Meteorological Department (IMD) Predicts Heavy Monsoon showers in parts of coastal Maharashtra and Goa which are set to witness heavy rainfall this weekend and beyond, starting Saturday, August 1.

In view of the predicted weather conditions, an orange alert has been placed over this region on August 2 and 3.

As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), these aforementioned conditions could cause widespread rainfall, with isolated heavy to very heavy falls over coastal Maharashtra, Goa, and the ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra from August 1.

Owing to heavy showers and strong surface winds, the IMD has placed a yellow watch (“be aware”) over coastal Maharashtra, Goa, and Madhya Maharashtra on Saturday. However, this advisory will intensify into an orange-level alert on Sunday and Monday, and residents have accordingly been urged to “be prepared” for rough weather conditions.

Rainfall in North India:

Meanwhile, thunderstorm with light to moderate intensity rain would occur over and adjoining areas of Few places of Entire Delhi, Noida, Gr. Noida, Faridabad, Gannaur, Bagpat, Kasganj, Narora, Chandausi, Sambhal, Sahswan, Badaun, Chandpur, Amroha, Moradabad during next few hours.

DELHI:

There will also be thunderstorm with light to moderate intensity rain would occur over and adjoining areas of isolated places of Delhi (Aayanagar), Meerut, Modinagar, Hapur, Chapraula, Palwal, Dadri, Noida, Gr. Noida, Jattari, Hathras, Deeg, Alwar, Etah during the next few hours.

Meanwhile, as the 2020 monsoon season reaches its halfway point, Maharashtra has thus far received a normal amount of rainfall. Between June 1 and July 30, the west Indian state has recorded ‘normal’ rains worth 560.2 mm.
