Min's name crops up in Rythu Bharosa list!

Amaravati: Education minister Adimulapu Suresh faced an embarrassing situation on Friday when his name was found in the Rythu Bharosa beneficiaries list. The official beneficiaries list with his name was published in Ganapavaram village panchayat office of Tripuranthakam mandal of Prakasam district.

Suresh was in Velagapudi attending official meetings when the issue was brought to his notice by the party leaders.

Learning about the issue, he immediately called up the agriculture joint director and directed him to remove his name and has asked the joint director to conduct an enquiry as to how his name was included in the beneficiaries list.

As per the rules, no legislator, minister, former minister, ZP chairperson is eligible to receive the benefit. Clarifying his position on the issue, Suresh said that his name was included in the list because of an error in automatic updating of records with computers.

“The Rythu Bharosa scheme is aimed at helping the farmers in distress. CM Jaganmohan Reddy is keen on the implementation of the scheme to bail out the farmers from the financial troubles and we will take all measures to see that the beneficiaries’ lists are foolproof,” he said. Although he too is a farmer and owns agriculture land in the native village, he would not receive the benefit as per the rules, Suresh clarified.
