Mirzapur shocker: Temple priest beats policemen after argument; 3 injured [VIDEO]

Mirzapur: An inspector and three other cops were injured in Uttar Pradesh after they were allegedly attacked by a temple priest. The incident took place at Mirzapur's Vindhyavasini temple on Thursday. 

The priest of the temple allegedly threw diyas at the cops. The accused priest was identified as Mohit Pandey.

The cops had gone to the temple to solve a scuffle between the priests. 

Shivji Maharaj, a priest of the temple told Mirror Now that on Thursday, Mohit Pandey attacked another person withing the temple premises. Fearing that the accused might cause damage to the temple paraphernalia, Maharaj made an attempt to intervene, following which, Mohit attacked him by throwing diyas at him. 

Sanjay Kumar Verma, SP Mirzapur said that Mohit had confined himself to the temple and when the cops asked him to come out, he allegedly attacked them. Mohit injured a police inspector along with three other cops. The injured police personnel have been admitted to the hospital where treatment is being administered to them. 

Construction workers operate earthmover at night, thrash cop for raising objection

In Ludhiana, a cop was attacked with swords after he raised an objection to construction work being carried out at night. The victim was identified as Bitan Kumar. Kumar allegedly asked a group of construction workers to stop using an earthmover at night as it was disturbing the residents. 

The construction workers, however, took offence to the same and started attacking the cop. Bitan suffered serious injuries and 14 stitches were administered to him.
