Mohali government schools perform better

MOHALI: The government schools in Mohali performed better this year in Classes X and XII results declared by the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB), recently.

Class X recorded 93.45% as the overall pass percentage and for Class XII, an all-time high pass percentage of 89.86% was recorded in Mohali.

According to the data provided by the PSEB, in Class X, out of a total of 108 government schools, 38 government schools produced 100% results and for Class XII, out of 80 government schools, 19 produced 99% pass percentage. Interestingly, out of the 38 government schools which produced 100% results, 37 are situated in the rural belts. Only Government High School, Phase V, Mohali, reached the milestone of producing 100% pass percentage.

Punjab education secretary Krishan Kumar said: “We started enhancement of teachers’ ability through capacity building and regular monitoring of students’ performance subject wise. Whichever subject was found weak, the teachers paid extra attention which uplifted the overall result.”
