Mohali: Jobless man commits suicide

MOHALI: A 25-year-old unemployed man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his house in Balongi on Wednesday evening.


Police recovered a suicide note from the room of Dimpal Kumar, who hailed from Kangra. “In the note, he has not blamed anyone for his taking the extreme step,” said a cop.

Dimpal was staying with another resident of Kangra in the rented accommodation.

“Dimpal had come to the city looking for a job. He took his life when he was alone. When his room-mate returned home, his repeated knocks went answered. He then broke open the door and found Dimpal hanging from the ceiling fan. He raised the alarm and called up the police,” the cop added.

After the post-mortem at Kharar civil hospital, the police on Thursday handed over the body to his family.
