Mohali: Two drug peddlers get 3-yr jail term

MOHALI: A local court here on Monday awarded three years rigorous imprisonment to two drug peddlers.


The court also slapped a fine of Rs 30,000 to each of the convicts.

The two convicts, Satpal alias Satta, 35, of Panchkula and Amarjit Singh, 35, of Sirsa have been sent to jail on charges of smuggling 104 grams of heroin.

The orders were pronounced by the court of additional district and sessions judge Devinder Kumar Gupta.

According to the case files, Satpal alias Satta and Amarjit Singh, were arrested in October 20, 2016, while attempting to sell heroin.

They were caught by the NCB while they were carrying heroin from New Delhi to Chandigarh. The NCB had caught the accused at Dappar Toll plaza.

Satpal alias Satta told the NCB that he got into taking drugs in 2004 and was trafficking heroin from Ferozepur, Amritsar and other places.
