There is another story about Mohini Ekadashi -

according to it there was a beautiful city named Bhadravati on the beautiful bank of Saraswati river. Where there was a king born in the Chandravansh, a satirist named Dhritimana. In the same city lived a Vaishya who was rich and prosperous with money. His name was Dhanapal. He was always engaged in performing virtues. At the same time he was a unique devotee of Lord Vishnu. He had five sons. Whose names are Sumna, Dutiman, Meritorious, Sukrit and Drishbuddha. Dhanapal's other sons were just like him. But drishbuddha was always engrossed in sinful works.

Dhanpal used to be very sad with his son Dhritbuddhi. One day, he got upset and removed the blindfold from home. After that, he started wandering from rate to rate. Due to his bad habits, no one gave him food or drink. Harassed with indiscriminate blindness, reached the ashram of Maharishi Kaundinya and said with folded hands, Maharishi I am a criminal but take care of me. Please tell me any such solution that can be liberated from me. Then Maharishi told him the fast and importance of Mohini Ekadashi.

Maharishi Kaundinya said that, O Jataka, observe Ekadashi in the name of Mohini on the bright side of Vaisakh. By observing this fast, the horrors like Meru Parvat done in many births of beings are also destroyed. Hearing this word of Maharishi, Dhritbuddha's mind was happy. According to the Guru, he observed 'Mohini Ekadashi' fast. By observing this fast, he became sinless and mounted on Garuda wearing a divine body and went to Srivishnudham without all the trouble.
