Most complaints are against police, local bodies departments: Haryana minister

AMBALA: Haryana home, urban local bodies, technical education minister Anil Vij was hearing some public grievances at his residence in Shashtri Colony of Ambala Cantonment on Thursday morning, where he said he had been receiving emails and letters with complaints from all over the state, mostly against police and urban local bodies department.




Vij said he had instructed officials of both these departments that all officers should resolve public grievances to their satisfaction at the local level, so that the image of the government and administration could emerge in the best way. He said, "Complaints and problems of the public are bound to be resolved at the local level. Most of the complaints are related to police and local bodies department."

Around 500 persons are visiting Vij's residence every day with grievances since he had taken oath as a minister again. Every day before leaving from his house in the morning, Vij meets public before leaving for official work. According to information, people visiting Vij's house are not only from Ambala district , but from other districts as well. Vij has also instructed officials of the health department to do a health check-up on priority, especially of women, children and specially-abled.

"The officials of the electricity department have been instructed to remove the pillars in Ambala cantonment, which are obstructing traffic. The officers of local bodies department should carry out a cleanliness drive and spread awareness against using single-use plastic and polythene," Vij further said about the instructions given to officials of the departments under him.
