MP Congress leaders grieve demise of old party colleague Ajit Jogi

BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh Congress leaders grieved the passing away of former chief minister of Chhattisgarh Ajit Jogi on Friday. Former chief minister and Congress veteran leader Kamal Nath tweeted, "Received news of the sad demise of Chhattisgarh former chief minister Ajit Jogi. He was unwell for some time. My condolences to the family.

May he rest in peace and may God give strength to bear this sorrow."


Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh also tweeted, "Saddened by the demise of Ajit Jogi. He was my personal friend and companion. He was a mature politician and rich in political acumen. I pay my homage to him. May his soul rest in peace."

Congress Rajya Sabha MP Vivek Tankha wrote, "Ajit Jogi, 1st CM of Chhattisgarh was a brave man. He fought his adversity for 16 years exceptionally. Was brilliant IAS officer, Created his political space in a short time. As CM his achievements were many. A family friend for us. I was his lawyer for many years."

Former leader of opposition Ajay Singh recalled Ajit Jogi as collector of Sidhi. "News of the death of Chhattisgarh chief minister Ajit Jogi is extremely sad. As collector of Sidhi he came in contact with late Dau Saab (former Congress leader Arjun Singh ) and became his confidant. Later he left civil services and joined politics. He has immense contribution in the politics of undivided Madhya Pradesh," Ajay Singh said in a statement. His demise is an irreparable personal loss for me. May his soul rest in peace and God give strength to the family to bear the loss," he added.
