BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh General Administration Department (GAD) directed commissioner Hoshangabad to conduct an inquiry into the dispute between collector and SDM and send a report within a week.
Hoshangabad DM and SDM have sent separate report and complaint letters after the incident to GAD. Meanwhile, former MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan demanded strict action against Hoshangabad collector.
A sub-divisional magistrate (SDM), posted in Hoshangabad district of MP was removed from field posting on Friday after he accused the collector of confining him to prevent from taking action against illegal sand mining in the region.
Principal Secretary GAD (Personnel) Deepti Goud Mukherjee said commissioner Hoshangabad has been asked to send a report within a week. Collector Hoshangabad has already sent a report and the SDM has also sent a letter to the department, she added.
While SDM Ravish Srivastava alleges that he was confined in the collector’s house for over three hours, collector Sheelendra Singh said he had summoned Srivastava to bring a file related to a land dispute in order to file a reply in the high court.
"The government had to file its reply in court and the SDM in question was sitting over the file, causing undue delay in the legal proceedings. His allegations are baseless," the collector told TOI. "I have sent a detailed report to the government. There are multiple complaints against him," he added.
Talking to mediapersons, SDM Ravish Srivastava alleged, "I was called at the collector’s bungalow around 11.45pm. The security personnel at the collector's bungalow misbehaved with me and tried to snatch my mobile phone. I was allowed to go only around 3am. The collector removed me from the post at night and also asked me to leave without a vehicle.”
